Bell Ringers Wanted

I am very pleased to report that thanks to the article published in the Spring issue of the Bampton Beam we had a very good response.

Nine potential ringers came to the taster session which was held during a regular practice night when they all a chance to try chiming a bell.

Unfortunately, since then 3 have backed out due to personal reasons. However, thanks to the fantastic support from experienced ringers from St. Mary’s, Witney and St. Stephen’s, Clanfield, we now have 6 very enthusiastic learners who are making excellent progress to becoming competent ringers so we should have a “Band” again for St. Mary’s in the new year.

With a tower of eight superb bells, we would ideally like to have more people in the “Band”.
