Burst Water Main
Potentially affecting OX7, OX18, OX28, OX29, GL7. You may already be aware of an ongoing issue where a water main that supplies a large area of West Oxfordshire has burst.
From West Oxfordshire District Council Communications Team
Thames Water are currently on site carrying out repairs. However, due to the location and size of the pipe, this is a complex repair and may take some time to resolve.
As a result, water supplies across West Oxfordshire are experiencing low pressure or loss of supply. We expect the situation to worsen throughout the day, with Carterton, Witney and other surrounding areas potentially losing water supply this afternoon. Thames Water are issuing updates on their website.
We would appreciate your help in sharing any important information and updates with residents in your communities, including the locations of the two bottled water stations that will be open until 21:00 this evening:
If you are aware of any vulnerable residents, please could you arrange for someone to check them just in case they haven't been provided with any bottled water so far, and direct them to Thames Water’s Priority Services Register, which offers additional support for those who may need it.
