New building. Bampton CE Primary School & Nursery .

The unit, which consists of two rooms and a large shared outdoor space, was completed and ready to move into a day and a half before term started!

The Early Years team worked incredibly hard in getting set up and ready to open for the children on the first day of term. The official opening event was attended by Charlie Maynard, local MP, and our academy trust CEO, Sharon Mullins, along with other stakeholders, many of whom had contributed financially to the project. Special thanks to the Bampton Youth Support Fund which provided a sizable donation that was used to ensure the outdoor area could be completed as planned.

Ongoing thanks to Christopher and Caroline Compton at Bampton Second Hand Book Shop who continue to donate funds raised to support us in adding resources to the outdoor area. FOBS and the Community Shop have also both donated funds to support with purchasing resources. We are so grateful to be so well supported by the local community.

As the year has progressed, we are continuing to establish our vision for this unit which provides 30 places for Reception age children and 26 places for Nursery children aged 3 years plus. We have a full cohort in Reception for September 2026 and still have vacancies for our Nursery which can accommodate 26 children on either 15 or 30 funded hours. There is also the option to purchase afternoon spaces for those only entitled to 15 hours.

The very old modular building that had once been the pre-school and then became the school nursery was finally demolished during the Easter holidays after standing empty for two years. This space has been rewilded and once the grass has grown, we have plans to make this a purposeful space to enhance outdoor learning.
